Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

Abstrakt

This project accounts for how dual socialization can influence a child to perform a pattern break. With the use of quantitative data the project emphasizes the relevance of the issue. In order to answer the specific issue of the project, we have chosen to make use of a qualitative method in form of a biography, by Lisbeth Zornig Andersen, which builds our case. We have chosen to proceed with a case in order to investigate a specific example of how a dual socialization can affect a child. Two sets of theories have been transferred to the qualitative data and this is done by using two theorists, Lars Dencik and Pierre Bourdieu. We have chosen to use the qualitative method which, alongside the use of quantitative data, will provide a deep insight into how a pattern break becomes possible. It is important to point out that the two methods supplement each other but also that they each have their limitations. Our issue has great relevance in Denmark today, which is shown by the use of quantitative data. However, it is important to highlight that this project does not conclude a general tendency. By using the qualitative method, with emphasize on pattern breaks, done by Zornig, it’s shown that dual socialization can have a positive effect on children. In the end the project concludes that care solitude and a change of habitus, in the secondary arena, have vital relevance for the child in this particular case. In our analysis, which is based on the theories by Bourdieu and Dencik, it is discovered that the dual socialization can have a positive impact on the child and contribute to a pattern break. Furthermore we have chosen create discussion. This discussion resulted in a greater and deeper understanding of which positions there is for care solitude, as well as mentoring To show the relevance of the issue we’ve drawn a parallel to the Danish primary school reform. The reform results in the child spending more time in the secondary arena. The purpose of the new school reform is to decrease the negative social heritage influence considerably.
