Studenteropgave: Bachelorprojekt

The following assignment will take it’s starting point regarding a new generation of students undergoing their university degree. This new generation has often been refer- red to as “digital natives”, who posses a large number of skills, that have been devel- oped during their upbringing. As a new generation of students enter the universities and higher learning facilities, a clash of generations will naturally occur between the two. The assignment wishes to investigate the new generation of students, and how to motivate them in their studies.
The research in this assignment draws upon academic articles, field research, and two analysis. Furthermore this assignment contains a number of chosen methods and theories that we have used to support our findings. This includes work by Prensky (2001), Turkle (2011), Hjarvard (2016) and Schultz (2015). Through our analysis, we have found a number of advice, that we think can help professors etc. at universities, have a better understanding of digital natives. As part of our conclusion, we are in the process of developing the aforementioned advice, as a digital tool that can be used in conjunction with lectures etc. We have included mockups of this design, and we aim to complete development of the product before our final examination.
