In this project we examine Comwell Klarskovgaard, which is a Conference hotel situated in Korsør. The hotel manager Louise Gliese seeks to create the conditions in which the most optimal conference can be held. The hotel is situated in the most beautiful forest, and is build with the purpose of being a conference hotel. It therefore seems that has the perfect conditions, but the aim of this project is to create a concept which will give Klarskovgaard something “extra”, that makes them stand out compared to the many other conference hotels in Denmark. We will examine what this “extra“ could be through auto ethnographic observations, participant observations and interviews. We have constructed three categories, namely: Atmosphere, co-creation and structure, these are elements that we have determined play a crucial role in creating the optimal conditions for an event, in this case a conference. We have constructed these three categories based on theoretical viewpoints on atmosphere, affect, event design and aestheticization. Based on these categories we propose a solution as to how Klarskovgaard can offer its customers the best conference experience.
