Over the past two decades the labor marked organization has seen a more sta-tic design replaced with an increasing flexible approach. Employers increasingly become aware of the employee's psychosocial needs, which is the catalyst for introducing the term human resources into the equation. But the new labor structure, in which the individual increasingly becomes self-managing, i.e. the work situation is framed with freedom to decide, however, also comes with indi-vidual responsibility for the task, carries both negative and positive consequences for the result. Employees have the opportunity to plan time for work and family, but the increasing blurred lines of time and space makes the distinction between work and leisure more difficult to distinguish. This leads to many individuals bring assignment back home, making use of new information technology in the form of e-mails and mobile phone. A growing number of stress and divorce include some of the negative consequences of this limitless labor structure, and with Richard Sennett’s theory about the flexible man, we will investigate whether the individuals is able to meet this increasing demand for flexibility? By means of time and space theory we look at how the division between work and leisure increasing disappears, and how this flexibility can be positive for some individuals, while destructive for others.
