Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

This report addresses the development that has taken place within the Danish elementary school over the last decade. The report illustrates how the political vision of a knowledge society finds expression in a number of structural changes focusing on academic skills and further education. The report discusses if the structural changes have caused the desired results and if the changes have caused any unintended results. It is illustrated that the academic improvements are questionable and that the unintentional consequences on the individual level result in a reduction of the student´s self-esteem and in increased social differences and poor social mobility in society.
