Studenteropgave: Speciale

This Masters Thesis deals with two major business trends in the recent decades: the organization of production in global value chains (GVC) and the emergence of corporate social responsibility (CSR). In the GVC-literature little is known about whether or how implementation of CSR-standards effects the governance structure in the chain, the relations between chain actors and their performance. In this thesis these issues are analyzed through a case study of the value chain for FSC-labelled garden furniture which includes Jysk a danish retailer with more than 1100 outlets in Europe, their supplier through a decade Scancom International who both produces the garden furniture in Vietnam and sources it from a network of approximately 40 vietnamese furniture manufactorers
