The scope of this research paper discusses the fundamental mechanisms of leadership management and its influence on creative processes within complex organisations. Drawing on a case study on the creative video game developer Ubisoft, this paper provides insight into the social collective processes that has contributed to the creative processes and innovation in organisations. The paper adopt an extensive case-study research design is conductive through an abductive reasoning approach. The paper incorporates the leadership management approaches: Network Management, Transformational Leadership and Knowing Management. The incorporated theories examine how the underlying elements of each leadership approach can serve as a significant factor in the enhancement of creative processes. The inquiry of this paper signifies the importance of managerial actions taken by the managements to encounter the various implication of management. Managers face the dilemma of the unbalance of autonomy and managerial control. This is encountered by imposing activities that support self-organising, whilst simultaneously monitor activities that align both interest of the parties. Social interactions play a crucial role when leaders manage the networks and sustain the transformational mechanisms within the organisations. In line with this focus, knowledge is socially created, leaving great emphasis on social interactions when managing complex organisations. Consequently, this paper concludes that the social collective leadership processes enhance the creative and innovative processes.
