In this project we have created a communications product for the online second hand guide CPH Treasures. The main aim of the product was to visibly convey alternative experiences in Copenhagen to guests staying at the Generator Hostel Copenhagen. In order to create a substantiated communications product we perform empirical research in form of qualitative interviews and quantitative research. In order to validate our empirical research we also investigated the tourist market in Copenhagen. Our investigation showed us that the Danish Ministry of Business and Growth, as well as Denmark’s leading tourist organisation Wonderful Copenhagen both call for innovative and alternative tourist offerings in Copenhagen. In the light of an impending cooperation between Generator Hostel Copenhagen and CPH Treasures, we decided to create a communications product, which we call the Generator Map as an answer to this demand. We did this on the backdrop of our research as it showed us that the guest at Generator Hostel prefer offline maps and regard authentic and local experiences highly when they travel. Therefore we concluded that the Generator Map would be a great addition and alternative solution to the offerings at Generator Hostel, and thus the best solution in our eyes to encourage alternative experiences for Generator Hostels guests.
