Financial sector organizations and the sector, in general, is one of the most powerful and secret sectors of the economy. In the last years, a group of organizations and actors has been leading a revolution towards a new way of doing business, where not only creating profits is the core of the business, but also seeking welfare and prosperity for society. At the forefront of this change in Finland is Helsinki Capital Partners, a small investment and assets management company which ethical values and transparency have differentiated it from its competitors. In this thesis we try to construct a better understanding of how a financial sector organization creates social impact, determine if this impact is product of a shared value creation process, and how the possible introduction of social impact measurements can highlight the possibilities for enhancing the service the organization provides while contributing to improving the social and economic conditions of its ecosystem. Finally, we present a theoretical construction of a social impact model which main objectives is to measure the quantitative and qualitative social impact, as well as giving the possibility to detect possible leverage points for creating shared value.5
