Computermedieret undervisning: barrierer og effectiveness

Studenteropgave: Masterprojekt

Why has computer mediated training (cmt) not gained more ground in companies in Denmark? The tendencies are that employees face increasingly higher demands as to maintain and develop their skills and qualifications. Studies of the cmt within different companies show that a large part of them expect cmt to enhance the efficiency of the training. We assumed that the limited use of cmt was because of the communicative barriers within the system. On that ground we have looked into which barriers there might be when using cmt and why. In our preliminary studies, which included a study of the cmt in a number of major companies we found that the absence of non-verbal communication in the cmt could prove to be one of the barriers. In addition to this we found that cmt to a high extent is based on computer based training (cbt). This particular form of cmt gives the participants little opportunity to affect the training, which should also be considered as a possible obstacle. Summing up with a clarification and discussion of the concepts of efficiency and effectiveness, we found the foundation of our study.
