Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

This project focuses on how the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) under the Kyoto Protocol can solve a global problem, namely climate change. A global problem requires a global solution, however, the Kyoto Protocol is based on realist measures as the responsibility for mitigating climate changes is placed on nation states. With this in mind, it can be questioned how realist and globalist worldviews influence the success of CDM. The aim of the CDM is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, transfer knowledge and technology as well as creating sustainable development. The CDM system does not achieve its three goals, especially in regards to creating sustainable development, as this concept has yet to be properly defined.
