Studenteropgave: Fagmodulprojekt

The following project investigates the series Chernobyl’s use of the Soviet union’s past, with a special focus on the nuclear accident on the power plant Chernobyl in 1986. The project strives to show which historical perceptions are put forward in the series and the surrounding debate that especially originates from a Danish/American and Russian perspective. Thorough an understanding of selected historical events in the Soviet Union, an exploration of the debate and an analysis based on the theo-retical works on “historiebrug” and memory by Bernard E. Jensen and Anette Warring; we discover, that the series pose a critical comment on today’s political spheres in societies, raised through the con-scious reproduction of the Chernobyl accident.
