Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

This paper seeks to study the development of empty shops, and how a design based on problem-solving methods, can change this development and be beneficial to the citizens of Roskilde. The paper includes a description of our location Roskilde, Denmark and an introduction to the methods and theories used. In the analysis, the methods and theories explain what causes this development and what the citizens desire in an attractive city. The analysis leads to our final design, which is a design concept mediated on a website. The design seeks to change the traditional way, a shop is managed. Instead it adapts the modern demands, so it can be a beneficial solution to the citizens. Furthermore, will we conduct an argumentation for the different choices made in the design, followed by a discussion, whether the wanted effect was achieved. At the end, will we reflect the chosen methods and theories. Which emphasizes what we could do more efficiently and what we can learn from this project.
In conclusion we found several reasons concerning this development, including e-commerce, rent, lease and malls. Furthermore, has the understanding of cities changed, and the shops need to adapt the new challenges. The most effective way to do this was to create a design, which include the citizens wishes and adapts the modern demands.
