Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

Abstrakt

This project concerns housing shortage for students in central Copenhagen. By applying the theories gentrification and the creative class by Richard Florida, we analyze the different boroughs’ changing popularity and development. Simultaneously we analyze the students’ needs and wishes with regards to finding accommodation in a time affected by housing shortage. To alleviate the housing problem, we apply the theories in practice, and thereby design a conceptual solution, the flexible housing concept ReFLEXbox. We analyze whether it is possible to supply personality to the home, so that ReFLEXbox may be an optimal alternative to student housing. Here we use the theories post-phenomenology and homeliness, which are two essential theories in the anthropological aspect of studying the home. In addition, we gather inspiration for our concept, through comparison of foreign architectural solutions. We argue for the economic aspect in the project by using the theory standardization. By covering all of the above theories and angles, we can draw up a model of ReFLEXbox.
