In the following project we have worked on the basis of the hypothesis that international learners have challenges when having an oral exam at Roskilde University. Through at short summary of Grundtvig’s influence on the Danish educational system and more specifically Roskilde University, it is possible to identify a Danish educational norm, which is valid in the oral exam. Hereafter, we have, through the eyes of Bourdieu investigated what the challenges consist of for three international students. We have investigated what challenges might occur when shifting from one field to another. The conclusion is that our three international learners do find it challenging to deal with the oral exams.
