This project focuses on the decisions or actions which an organization's management can use in the construction industry to bring down the number of work accidents in order to lower the cost related expenses that these accidents brings. Therefore the focus is on work environment with some theories as argument for what a healthy work environment is and how to improve it. The empirical basis will come from an interview with an OHS-supervisor employed by metroselskabet I/S to keep check of the site Cityringen, where a number of contractors stand for the actual construction of the Cityring. In addition we will look at how the metroselskabet themselves describes their safety policies, on the construction site and compares these statements with what the reality is, when it comes to the number of accidents and Arbejdstilsynet assessments of safety on site. There will also be focus on, what is required to restructure the company to improve the working environment. This is done for the purpose to comparing the expenses of accidents at the Cityring, with the economic costs related to expanding the focus on good and safe working environment. There will also be looked at why accidents occur. Here we will look at the company's structure, to analyze if the problem may lie with the management of the metro company, or other parts of the project.
