Abstrakt

This study analyses whether or not a specific target audience interpret the poster “Drop Kålhovedet” as intended by the sender. This is done through conducting a semiotic analysis. It will also clarify if there is a basis for the target audience to go through central stages of a communications process as presented by Preben Sepstrup, and if the poster is able to initiate a behavioral change through Rogers characteristic of innovation. We do so with qualitative research methods such as a focus group interview with members from the target audience. It is concluded that the poster is not interpreted as intended by the sender and the focus group does not experience every stage of the process. The poster does not motivate the focus group towards a behavioral change according to the intended message.
