An investigation of how electricians perceives the idea of an online learning platform

Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

This article explores how experience economy and user experience can optimize and utilize a new
learning platform launched by Schneider Electric in 2019. The study was conducted by the use of indepth
interviews and task-based interviews. 6 electricians in total was collected to answer questions
related to the experience of the platform. The questions asked at the interview settings were based on
user values and the four realms provided by Pine and Gilmore (2014). The data collection and the
analysis revealed that there is strong tendency to favor offline classroom sessions rather than online
sessions. However, during the interview and by letting the electricians check out the platform, all six
became keener on using the platform. Hence, the platform needs a make-over before it can live up to
the standards of the experience economy and user experience (UX) (Hassenzahl 2007). This includes
implementing a chat function, using other language than Danish and English, rewards participants
and in general tailor it to the identity of the segment
