Studenteropgave: Speciale

Abstrakt

This thesis applies historical institutionalism concepts (path dependency, critical junctures, gradual change) to the Swiss and the Danish unemployment insurance systems, in order to examine how they have evolved from their respective creations until today and to identify elements that may explain this evolution. It also looks at the broader Swiss and Danish welfare states, assesses the extent of convergence between the Swiss and the Danish unemployment insurance systems and discusses the relevance of historical institutionalism in studying welfare states.
