Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

How is an open group created as a social construction and in how can this social construction ensure maintenance of them and their activities? These are some of the question this paper ask in order to conduct a study on the three open activity groups Golden Pilgrimx, Urban Workout Nørrebro and Play On Earth. All using facebook to communicate, based in Copenhagen, open and free for everybody. This paper is solution-focused, since it takes point of departure in the assumption that the groups can do better in society. Hence the purpose to study the groups is to understand the dynamics of the groups in order to be able to create such groups in future. Such a solution-focused stating point involves a combination of practical and theoretical analysis, in which interviews with members of the different groups is related to theory of Richard Jenkins and Zygmunt Bauman ad hoc. The latter of the two will also be related to the groups in respectively an urban/local and a global context, which the groups, as the study show, potentially can influence in a positive way. The solution-oriented focus and the fact that the author of this paper is also the originator of one of the groups, challenges the study and makes it unique in the balance between practical and academic writing.
