Translation: How is stakeholder management implemented ?

The text is a contribution to the “New Encyclopedia of Stakeholder” edited by Dr HDR Maria Bonnafous-Boucher and Professor Dr. Jacob Dahl Rendtorff to be published by Edward Elgar in 2022. It presents stakeholder management as a management idea and demonstrates the relevance of four different translation perspectives for implementation of stakeholder management in practice in organizations. One of these perspectives theorize translation of management ideas as translation of texts. Another theorize it as transfer, translation and negotiation between a social world A and B, yet another perspective theorize the process as characterized by "travel of ideas" and construction of action-nets, while the last perspective theorize the process as a process where ideas are realized through translation processes that build up a performative actor-network that realizes the idea.
