Abstract
Crisis has been placed at the centre of our realities, from climate change and recessions to pandemics, affected by the focus of political institutions on endlessly accumulating capital on a finite planet. We suggest that commons and commoning with a focus on the more-than-humans allows us to challenge this context seeking to move beyond the economic-centric logic. We contribute to the literature about more-than-human commons through two case studies, the women’s collective and the chamomile-bee commons in Skouries of Halkidiki, Greece. Each case highlights the building of a caring capacity between humans and more-than-humans as a precondition for democratic politics.
