Abstract
This paper presents the outlines of a three-year research project, named The Breakfast
Club. The primary rationale behind the project is based on an increased elderly population in Denmark and hence, an increased pressure on public welfare benefits and financial resources. This challenge has been accommodated by deploying new welfare technology solutions, these include rehabilitation strategies in order to increase functional ability and quality of life among the elderly populations and hence to decrease pressure on welfare
