Abstract

This manuscript is about how people react to common age-typical losses, such as loss of partner or physical function, in later life. It is the first manuscript in an international project concerning psychosocial resilience surrounding age-typical losses in later life. It is novel in that we focus on various common losses that occur at older ages, center data around those losses, and model trajectories of life satisfaction over an extended period of time (data span a 30-year-period) to identify various resilient as well as less resilient responses to loss.
