An indetermined Other, coming into being by joining the conference assemblage. An “inappropriate(d) other” (Trinh T Minh-ha), capable of resisting appropriation and of recognizing and negotiating her situations, including her own subjectivity/identity. Andet | This conference aimed to create an interdisciplinary conversation on the sociocultural, bodily and health-related unfolding of “the Anthropocene”. This concept postulates a whole new geo-planetary era defined by the overwhelming human influence on the earth after industrial capitalism and has provoked varying feminist scholarly responses as to how it re-defines the place and role of humans in the environment and how it dealswith human, nonhuman and inhumane hardship in gendered, racialized and cultural patterns. |
