Abstract

The study investigates the motivators and inhibitors of Estonian
e-Residency adoption for international virtual entrepreneurship purposes.
The theory of Diffusion of Innovations is applied to conduct a qualitative
investigation from adopters’ perspective. Findings show that a number of
elements characterize the e-Residency adoption process and that such a
process might be more complicated than what is expected at first glance.
The main contribution of the article consists in the empirical investigation
of a new type of e-government service, namely e-Residency, that might
favor the establishment of virtual entrepreneurs in Estonia.
