Publikation: Bidrag til bog/antologi/rapportBidrag til bog/antologiForskningpeer review

Abstract

This chapter focuses on Tariq Modood’s interventions concerning the Danish cartoon controversy over the publication of twelve cartoons of Muhammad and discusses them in light of his general contextualist stance as well as his more specific methodological recommendations. The aim is to draw out how Modood works with specific cases like this and to note some examples of the challenges posed by how he does so. Furthermore, I will use Modood’s engagement with the cartoon controversy as possible illustrations of the different methodological moves in his contextualist approach.
