Abstract
To support indoor spatial queries and indoor location-based ser-vices (LBS), multiple techniques including model/indexes andsearch algorithms have been proposed. In this work, we con-duct an extensive experimental study on existing proposals forindoor spatial queries. We survey five model/indexes, comparetheir algorithmic characteristics, and analyze their space and timecomplexities. We also design an in-depth benchmark with realand synthetic datasets, evaluation tasks and performance metrics.Enabled by the benchmark, we obtain and report the performanceresults of all model/indexes under investigation. By analyzing theresults, we summarize the pros and cons of all techniques andsuggest the best choice for typical scenarios.
