Abstract
This article is about local democracy in a larger city like Copenhagen. Over the last 10 years the municipality have had a number of experiences related to various local democratic institutional arrangements. The article shows how one of the first experimental urban districts acquired a unique local democratic experience - even in a Nordic perspective - and furthermore it discusses whether those experiences also can be seen in connection with later less ambitious institutional arrangements.
