    Artiklen undersøger udbredelsen af begrebet om det kompetente barn, som specielt inden for de seneste 15 år har stået centralt i reformuleringen af teoretiske tilgange til børn og barndom. Disse tilgange har især sat fokus på hvordan synes at have forandret sig, hvordan betingelserne for moderne barndom har forandret sig, og ikke mindst at selve tilgangen til forståelsen af børn har undergået forandringer
