Abstract

Although definitions vary, think tanks can broadly be understood as organizations which claim autonomy and attempt to influence public policy by mobilizing research (Kelstrup 2016, 10). Through their mobilization of ideas, advice, and suggestions for policy decisions, think tanks hold potentials for supplying expertise to the policy process at a faster pace than academia and in a more rigorous way than consultancies, lobbyists, or media outlets.
