Abstract

The article describes a case study of the World Bank's social innovation game called Urgent Evoke. The case shows that the social innovations generated by a small group of players rest upon the contributions and collaboration offered by the larger social network of gamers. The article argues that our notion of participation is too narrow and blind to many forms of micro donations and that by extending the concept of participation we can make more inclusive designs that can catch and facilitate important micro donations
