Civil identitet: [Et rets- og teknologifilosofisk problemfelt?]

    Resumé

    I foredraget vil jeg gennemgå et katalog af eksempler på anvendelse af betegnelsen civil identitet, som går lige fra den rent formelle identificering af en person vha. diverse ID-papirer, fingeraftryk, iris-scanning mm. til diskussioner af Shari'a-lovgivning vs. almindelig civilret i Indien; fra studiet af den religiøse kult i antikke bystater til forfatningsmæssige forandringsprocesser i postkommunistiske lande; og fra konfliktløsningsforsøg mellem jødiske og arabiske borgere i Israel til den feministiske filosof Luce Irigarays program om at udarbejde en specifik kvindelig civil identitet. Hensigten er at undersøge, om disse forskellige anvendelser af 'civil identitet' peger hen imod et samlet og nogenlunde afgrænset virkelighedsfelt, ud fra hvilket der rejser sig aktuelle og vedkommende forskningsspørgsmål. Hvis et sådant undersøgelsesfelt kan etableres, kunne svarene på disse spørgsmål være relevante for sådanne aktuelle problemer som etniske, religiøse og kulturelle konflikter og deres mulige løsning, migration og nationalitet, borgerrettigheder og overvågning, sikkerhed og privatlivets fred, bureaukrati og intersubjektivitet, teknologi og livsverden.
