abstract = "A model for capacity analysis of freight transport with a time aspect is presented and applied. The model involves the analysis of the impacts of investments in possible new connections. In this capacity analysis we combine the knowledge of origin and destination of the demand with business knowledge of desired departure and arrival times. The model for the analysis is an integer multi-commodity flow model. From the output of this model congested track segments are found together with the time of week the congestion occurs. To illustrate the application of the model a capacity analysis of the railways in Denmark and Southern Sweden based on forecasts of the transportation flow in 2030 is presented.",
