Abstract
An exploration of the late Barbadian poet and historian Kamau Brathwaite's poem-lecture ConVERSations with Nathaniel Mackey. In the article I attempt to classify the publication as a palimpsest and discuss this as an anti-hierarchical textual format that allows for submerged voices to break through the textual surface.
