Abstract
As aging population grows, welfare technology (WT) has been attracted more attentions as one of the solutions to the welfare resource shortages. However, at present, WT has not necessarily implemented widely in the welfare fields in Japan. Reasons for hindering the WT introduction to the society include the absence of assessment standards and the lack of social implementation process models. So, how is WT evaluated and implemented in organizations and homes where have promoted WT successfully? Based on the investigation on WT assessment methods and processes of seven successful organizations, the research extracted three key categories with seven aspects, which indicates importance of stakeholder involvements and concepts of autonomy. The strong autonomy fostered through the use of WT indicates an emerging opportunity to amplify care quality with limited physical contacts. These critical aspects of WT assessments contribute to design communication under the new normal.
