Beskrivelse

‘Situated knowledge and material practices’ looks at the role of materiality, affect and aesthetics in working with problems as arising from the middle of situations rather than being given in advance. It develops the methodological and educational consequences of a renewed focus on material and aesthetic practices as a way of connecting with material and affective aspects of inquiry. Drawing on the transdisciplinary practices of research-creation and feminist methodologies, the project explores how materiality and aesthetic experience in research can exceed interpretative and analytical frameworks and actively co-produce and further problematize what it seeks to explore. It contributes to existing theory on problem-oriented learning by rearticulating relations between knowledge and practice.
