    Beskrivelse

Modern and ancient history have been characterised by an abundance of parallel and overlapping orders encompassing transnational religious authorities, empires, states, confederations, currency unions, alliances and precursors of present day international organisations and NGOs. The starting assumption of this work package is that this diversity and polycentric configuration contain key insights on how regional international societies form, evolve and interact across regions and continents in the past, as well as the present.
