Beskrivelse

Sapere Aude forskningsprojekt, finansieret af Det Frie Forskningsråd.
NewMI focuses on online practices of intimacies. By investigating how social media construct new types of intimacies, NewMI will contribute knowledge and theoretical insights into Danish and international research. New social media, characterized by user-generated content, interactivity, participation and community formation, has gained much research attention in recent years. At the same time, intimacy is increasingly becoming a field of study. But the interconnections between the two areas – and the ways social media and intimacies continuously become interwoven and influence each other – are rarely studied in detail. This project aims at filling this lacuna. The project is a three-year collaboration project between young scholars at Roskilde University (RUC), University of Copenhagen (KU) and University of Southern Denmark (SDU) and in cooperation with the public service station DR.
