DFF-Forskningsprojekt 1 :
Holomorphic dynamics and orthogonal polynomials are active fields of research in
pure mathematics. The objective of the proposed research is to strengthen these
fields through the investigation of concrete projects. Our fields of research share
complex analysis as a common base. They yet enjoy only few connecting results,
nevertheless they posses striking similarities which call for attention. One of our
main research projects aims at understanding similarities and differences between
the fields. Ultimately we envision a dictionary between the two fields, inspired by
Sullivans dictionary between holomorphic dynamics and Kleinian groups. This
project, which requires the research expertise of all the group members, is
expected to cross-fertilize our fields by moving results and techniques between
them.
