The project Going Green Globally? Moral Economies of Vegetarianism advances understanding of the potential role of vegetarianism in fostering sustainability, building on empirical material derived from my previous and ongoing research on vegetarianism and green economies in India, the United States, the Global South, and the Global North. This project will contribute insights on emergent green regulation and broaden the ambit of the limited comparative and empirical literature on vegetarianism. It will also establish an interdisciplinary research agenda for exploring how forms of food regulation can sustain vegetarianism.
