I am an interdisciplinary PhD Fellow working at the Department of Social Science and Business at Roskilde University. I have an academic background in Global Studies and History, but I am now deeply engaged in global value chain (GVC) research. I believe worker rights in global value chains need to be reanalysed through  novel methods and theoretical approaches in the changing context of the globalised world economy.   This approach is the focus of my PhD research, in which I am particularly interested in exploring worker participation in climate change-related decision-making in global value chains. The empirical ground of my PhD project is the garment industry in Bangladesh (including post-production garment waste recycling sector). The overall focus of my research is on working conditions and workers' collective actions and bargaining rights in the global garment value chain.

Before starting my PhD research at Roskilde University, I was involved in Global Value Chain research as a Research Assistant at Copenhagen Business School. I also worked as a Lecturer and Researcher at the Department of History, Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh, before I moved to Denmark.
