Curriculum

Sevasti studied Economics at the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece. She continued her studies, Masters of Science in Agricultural Economics at the Department of Agricultural Economics, University of Saskatchewan, Canada where she also worked as a Research Associate.  She holds a Postgraduate Degree in European Studies from Aalborg University, Denmark.  During 1999-2000 she worked as a Research Assistant at the Royal Agricultural University, Copenhagen, in Denmark (Copenhagen University).  She completed her Ph.D in Social Sciences at the Department of Society and Globalisation (current Department of Social Sciences and Business) Roskilde University.  During August 2005-July 2006 she was a visiting scholar at the Department of Political Science, University of Berkeley, USA. During September 2017-March 2018 she has been Visiting Professor at the Johnson Shoyama Governance School, University of Saskatchewan, Canada.

Sevasti's research interests concentrate on two broad areas: a. on the EU institutions, decision making and the Europeanisation of public administration particularly within the regulatory policy areas with an emphasis on food, agriculture and chemicals; and b. on the Europeanisation and transnationalisation of social movements as a response to austerity policies and the Eurozone crisis. Her publications appear at the International Journal of Public Administration, European Politics and Society, British Food Journal, and a number of chapters in edited volumes By Palgrave and Routledge.

Sevasti has organised and taught various courses at the Bachelor and Master levels on European and global topics in Europe and North America.

Since January 4th,  2015 she is an Associate Professor at the Department of Social Sciences and Business, Roskilde University.

Sevasti's new research focuses on circular economy and risk governance in relation to food, agriculture and the environment.
