Personlig profil

Forskning

My research takes an interdisciplinary and socio-legal approach to different areas of law with a particular focus on the history and theory of international law and law, gender and political economy. I have published on issues of self-determination, decolonisation, gender inequality, labour regulation, human rights, and the political economy of international law. I currently sit on the editorial board of Feminist Legal Studies.

My first monograph – Reckoning with Empire: Self-Determination in International Law (Brill, 2023) traces the ways in which various actors have sought to reinvent self-determination in different juridical, political, and economic iterations to create the conditions for global transformation.

Drawing on the law and humanities tradition, my research also examines the aesthetics and spatial politics of international law. I am currently part of the research project legal sightseeing with Sofia Stolk and Renske Vos at VU University www.legalsightseeing.org. An edited volume based on this research, Legal Architecture, is forthcoming with Elgar.
