Forskning

I am a linguist and specialist in English sociolingustics and English language, with research interests in pronunciation variation and change, dialectology, language attitudes and language ideology, accent stylisation, elite sociolects, as well as the sociolinguistic status of English in the world. I have previously worked on a project concerned with the sociolinguistic consequences of internationalisation in Higher Education. My research work is at the crossroads of the humanities and the social sciences, since I have used humanistic and social science methods to investigate the nature of human language variation and change and its implications for social contexts and lived experiences. I have recently started research work drawing on semiotic traditions and looking at framing of parody, as well as collaboration difficulties playing out in student group chats. 

Undervisning

I am presently Head of Studies and House Coordinator of the Global Humanities BA programme. I teach in the progression courses Study Competence and Project management, as well as Knowledge Communication. I have in the past supervised students in interdisciplinary Text and Sign projects at all levels of the BA programme, as well as as MA level.
