Forskning

My research lies at the interdisciplinary nexus of communication, sociology, and organization studies. I currently focus on two distinct areas: artificial intelligence and local food systems.

 

Artificial Intelligence

I approach artificial intelligence from social science and humanities perspectives. Drawing on concepts such as sociotechnical imaginaries, modern myths, mystery, empty signifier, and communicative constitution, I examine how people understand artificial intelligence, its role in organizations and society, and its implications for the investment, development, and adoption of the technology.

Additionally, I focus the socio-environmental impacts of artificial intelligence, with a particular emphasis on the necessity of greening our AI practices.  

 

Local Food Systems

In collaboration with colleagues in Sweden and Finland, the Organizing Food project explores factors that enable or hinder the local food system Reko (REjäl KOnsumtion) as a viable alternative to the globalized and industrialized food system. See: https://organizingreko.com

 

Additional Research Interests

My previous projects have addressed topics including organizational ventriloquism, communication strategizing, ideals-practice dynamics, identity work in organizational settings, disciplinary dimensions of member voicing/employee advocacy, and strategic political communication.

 

Teaching and Supervision

I teach and supervise within the field of public relations, strategic communication, organizational communication, corporate communication, and artificial intelligence.

 

I hold a PhD from Uppsala University, Sweden, a MA in strategic communication from Lund University, Sweden, and a MA in social and cultural analysis from Linköping University, Sweden.
