My research focuses on both fundamental and applied research, investigating core issues in dynamical systems theory and network theory, and exploring their applications in complex systems within biology, biomedicine, and neuroscience.

Using and developing methods from applied mathematics, dynamical systems and bifurcation theory, network theory, numerical methods, and simulation, my research group is dedicated to unraveling the intricate mechanisms that drive complex phenomena in nature, society, and technology, based on the mathematical modeling of biological and technological systems.

A specialty lies in the study of network dynamical systems, such as networks of coupled oscillators and neurons, where the emergence or loss of dynamic behaviors such as synchronization controls the functionality of the network.
