Roskilde Doctoral Schools and UniPæd have arranged an introductory seminar for all new PhD students at Roskilde University. Start: 08. May 2012 09:00 End: 08. May 2012 16:00 Location: Theory room P9 It will be held on Tuesday the 8th of May 2012 from 9am to 4pm in Theoryroom P9 A+B. The day is organised around themes studies have shown are important to and relevant for PhD students at RU. You will be introduced to important subjects as for instance: your rights and responsibilities, what it means to be a PhD student and examples of successful PhD course of studies. The seminar includes workshops, for instance, regarding clarification of the relation between you and your supervisor; or examples of good practice from PhD students at advanced stages in their PhD process. Moreover, you will be introduced to topics such as: scientific integrity and scientific conduct, how you manage your own project and the difference between studying for a masters and studying for a PhD. Finally there will be opportunity to enroll in PhD networks across institutes at RU where you can be inspired and exchange ideas with other PhD students. We invite all PhD students who have not yet signed up, to participate in this seminar to meet each other and receive some good and relevant input.
