The Bologna agreement has created immense difficulties for the traditional main hosts of Australian Studies - English Departments. The situation after Bologna calls for the reconfiguration of Australian Studies into a more self-consciously interdisciplinary studies, to gather the talent in Europe interested in doing Australian Studies in whatever form.
