Beskrivelse

Abstract by Dr, Karen Suyemoto In this talk, I aim to briefly describe racialization as the conceptual foundation of my work within multicultural psychology in the U.S., describing how racialization is a socialization process related to socially created hierarchies of power, privilege, and oppression. I will then present an abbreviated overview of the psychological and relational effects of living in a racialized world for people of color and white people in the U.S., effects which have been supported by research in the field (my own and others). Given these effects, we will discuss ways that psychologists can foster positive mental health for clients of color in therapy, and through organizational and systems-level advocacy. Introduction by Rashmi Singla Ethnicity focus though conflated with race in Denmark, DRC ( Documentation and Advisory Centre on Racial Discrimination ) established in 1993... civil society organizations active, RS research focuses on subjective experiences and coping with race discrimination among young persons, ethically mixed couples, and LATT( living apart together transnational couples. Within organisations, emphasis on " Unconscious bias" and white fragility- Tate & Page, 2018 explain s “White fragility" as a state in which even a minimum amount of racial stress becomes intolerable triggering a range of defensive moves.” Confronting, confessing to unconscious bias, and dismantling it is a step towards diminishing racism, white supremacy, and fighting the lack of diversity.
